Leila pronounced (Lay-la) is a multi talented, multilingual artist/songwriter that bridges many different cultures. A truly international artist, she was born in Argentina to Spanish parents, grew up in Barcelona and Valencia Spain. She later moved to Canada and now resides in the United States.
Embracing Soul, Smooth Jazz, R&B and Latin "World" rhythms, Leila's sound is a soulful combination of passion, percolating grooves, warm, sensual vocals and romantic flamenco guitar. Her debut “Of Life” resulted in a huge worldwide fan base and topped several music charts with songs crossing many genres and charting simultaeneously, including several top 10 songs in the genres of Soul, R&B, Latin, Adult Contemporary and reaching the #16 spot on MP3.Com’s Top 40, well above 400,000 songs and artists.
Her latest release, “SOUL ASCENSION” blends lyrical depth, introspection and vulnerability with smooth sultry vocals and an emphasis on humanitarianism, unity and positive uplifting messages. Guest appearances include the brilliant Eric Darius, on the romantic single “Sexy Saxophone”, production by hit songwriter/producer and smooth jazz artist Funkee Boy, world renowned and acclaimed flamenco guitarist Romero, and grammy award winning producer, K.C. Porter (Santana, Ricky Martin, Janet Jackson, Brian McKnight) who is also featured on vocals on the song “Change” with Leila
LIVE PERFORMANCES: With her culturally diverse, colorful and exciting live show in celebration of the different rhythms of the world, Leila performed in concert with Latin Grammy winner Gilberto Santa Rosa, Charlie Zaa and Tony Vega, at Mohegan Sun Arena and performed at the legendary, late Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch, by invite only. Leila has also performed at The Globe Theatre (Univeral Studios) Hollywood, honoring the legacy of Jim Henson and at BB King Blues Club - Foxwoods Resort and Casino
Recently, Leila appeared on the CD “Songs of Hope and Unity” as one of only 40 songwriters invited to attend the “Oneness Songwriter Summit” with such industry greats as Brian Culbertson, MOTOWN LEGEND Lamont Dozier, R&B singer Carl Thomas and KC Porter. Oneness, whose board members include Santana, among other iconic musicians, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of racial equality and tolerance and aims to spread unity consciousness through music and the arts.

PRODUCTION CREDITS Funkee Boy wrote and produced for Leila, whose CD "Soul Ascension" featured the smooth jazz single "Sexy Saxophone" featuring Eric Darius and charted on the smooth jazz charts. He also co-wrote & Produced Leila's song "Listen Don't Listen" which made the top 40 AMERICAN MUSIC CHARTS credits. Funkee Boy also wrote and produced several songs on on smooth jazz guitarist Robert Harris CD "Miami Sun", including "Bliss" which charted Billboard #24. He produced "True Blue" and "Table For Two" by smooth jazz saxophonist Marty Q which also charted and produced "Pure Pleasure" by Tadros which charted top 15 Canada. He wrote and produced for Tenderoni which went on to be signed to Babyface and whose music appeared in the movie soundtrack "Soul Food". He also worked with Kmelz an R&B artist, writer and producer who appeared on the Showtime channels' “Soul Food” series inspired by the original movie.
